I know this potential reality might seem like a far-off fantasy, because I held these secret desires of Time Abundance, wealth and dream team dynamics for years before I figured out how to create them…

Once I got through the first couple of years of building my yoga and Pilates studio (which were tough, I’ll be honest), it wasn’t actually that hard to scale to a half a million in revenue per year.

I was finally making a 6-figure salary and paying down my (copious) loans from those early years, and I had gotten my schedule down to manageable 40 hours a week (which was MUCH better than the 80 hour weeks of the early days).

But then a year passed, and then another.

And I could not for the LIFE of me figure out how to scale beyond $500K/year in revenues.

I assumed the issue was that I had a marketing probIem, so I tried literally every single lead generation strategy I could think of:

  • I doubled down on our organic social media posts and email campaigns.

  • I paid beaucoup bucks to an industry-specific marketing agency to create a custom ad strategy.

  • I spent tons of time and resources with my team building out a new website.

  • I paid a text marketing expert to launch a huge campaign to our warm list of 10,000 prospects and former clients.

NOTHING WORKED.

So I started to get curious - maybe it WASN’T actually a small audience or lack of leads that was my problem, which is what I’d been telling myself.

I took a brave look at what was really going on in my business, and what I saw was a team that lacked cohesion and camaraderie, and even had a tinge of resentment and toxicity.

As a recovering people-pleaser, I didn’t really know what to do about that, so I took on my tried-and-true strategy of avoidance for as long as I could (lol).

But finally I realized I had to be willing address the misalignments and have the difficult conversations.

I started to show up in team meetings with vulnerability - presenting the problem and asking the team for their ideas (instead of thinking I had to figure it all out myself).

I began to collaborate with my team & mentors and get organized in my systems, financials and spreadsheets - even though that kind of thing isn’t something I’m naturally that good at.

Slowly I gained more confidence as an Embodied Boss and CEO:

  • A leader who is willing to experiment, take risks and make mistakes

  • A leader who doesn’t pretend or need to know all the answers today to make a good decision for tomorrow

  • A leader who is warm and relational, yet clear in her boundaries

  • A leader who uses her intuition AND cold, hard data + the advice of her trusted team of allies to make smarter financial decisions

  • A leader who has the mature systems and teams to support bringing her big, wild ideas to fruition without chaos or struggle

Most of all I learned how to be an unstoppable Creatrix of my visions and dreams (even with all my very human thoughts, feelings, doubts and imperfections).

This shift of focus from marketing to addressing team + infrastructure (and working on being a gutsier, more self-trusting leader) proved to be the magic ingredient for me.

In the next year we scaled to $600K in revenue, and I cut my working hours in half again, to 20 per week.

Now I had some real leverage in terms of my time and bandwidth. and I took the leap to start a mentoring business.

In the first 18 months after I launched it I made $36K in sales, which translated to 5 sales ....

In the following 12 months I made over $200K.

Because I was already making enough to live on from my first business, this was LIFE-CHANGING money.

And my husband and I made the choice to upgrade our lifestyles just a little bit. Most of the overflow we socked into our savings account.

After a few years we had multi-6 figures in savings and bought our dream house with 1.7 acres and a view of the San Francisco Bay.

And our equity has more than doubled in the two years we've owned it.

When I say life-changing money, that's what I mean.

But I think back to those first 18 months of my mentoring business.

In 18 months there were only FIVE DAYS when I made a sale.

  • You’ll need to block out 2 hours per month for the Group Coaching Calls which we meet for every month except July and December (although we may take less time if everyone’s questions can be answered quickly).

    Most of the actions steps I’ll help you unearth to reach your goals can be implemented during the time you already have allocated for work.

    And while implementation may take some effort initially, the work we’ll do together over this next 6 or 12 months is 100% designed to help you create MASSIVE Time Abundance and financial gain, so it will be well worth it.

  • The calls are held via zoom on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 12 noon pst to 1pm pst, generally speaking.

  • My clients are mostly in service-based industries such as wellness, coaching/consulting, marketing, education and entertainment with 2-25 employees.

  • I’m so sorry that’s happened to you. I’ve been there, and I know it can be a bitter pill to swallow.

    And I also know becoming a more savvy investor takes time and experience. We all make mistakes along the path - it doesn’t mean you can’t trust your own intuition nor other people.

    My support to you is to do two things:

    1.} Run the numbers! Does this investment level make sense given your ideas for your offers and price points and the time frame during which you’d like to scale? Do you have the cash coming into your business in order to support it, or a financing option like a loan or interest-free credit card that will allow you to align the support you require to grow? These are important questions to answer as you’re considering making any new business investment.

    2.) Feel in your body if this is the right thing for you now instead of overthinking, talking yourself out of it or asking a bunch of your non-entrepreneur friends for their advice (always a bad idea).

    Intuition is a body feeling, and you’ll need it to get where you want to go with your life and business. Access it now to help you with this decision.

  • Maybe. Private Mentoring can be a very potent and effective way to get results.

    But/and often times the leaders I work with that have ego stuff and impatience coming up in Group Programs also have the same dynamics amongst their team of employees (and even with their clients!).

    So my Group Containers can be a good laboratory to clean that stuff up so you can show up as a more humble, confident, collaborative, relational leader for your organization, and mentor to your people if it’s a better fit for your budget than Private Mentoring at this time.
