It’s my birthday week, the kids are on their spring break and we are enjoying the most peaceful, fun staycation here in Oakland…
lots of snuggles in bed and on the couch with my babes
walks in nature with just my thoughts and the pups
laughs and a strawberry milkshake with my hubs
a day of gardening and chit chat with my MIL who I adore
car trips here and there to check out nearby parks and museums we’ve never been to before
Tomorrow I’ll be meeting my friend’s baby (and pet pigs) for the first time, having Italian food with the family including my beloved Auntie, and enjoying a date night out with my man and friends to see a garage rock band in San Francisco
Beyond beyond grateful for the simple things
Food
Family
Home
Friends
Nature
Music
Love
Peace
Adventure
And of course as always with my gratitude comes thoughts of all the people on the planet who don’t experience these privileges
If you’re in a position to make a donation, here’s an organization to support the more than 30 million people worldwide in 22 countries/territories who are currently experiencing food crises.
(Most of them are women and children and I’ve read that over 85% of them live in conflict zones like Gaza)

And if you prefer to donate closer to home (where hunger is a very real problem for many), we love the folks at the Alameda County Food Bank
And whether or not you make this or any donation today I hope you’ll join me in this Buddhist blessing which my meditation teacher taught me many moons ago
May all people be safe. May all people be happy. May all people be free.
Forever my birthday wish.
