So you’ve had team members go behind your back and steal your clients…
So you’ve had team members go behind your back and steal your clients…
Uggh I’m sorry this happened to you.
I will seriously never understand how people can do this.
And I imagine it’s left a REALLY bad taste in your mouth.
It’s probably hard to imagine finding someone trustworthy
Maybe it makes you want to just give up on the whole team concept altogether and go back to doing everything yourself
But…
You and I both know that’s not really an option
You CAN NOT do the job of 5 humans anymore
Been there done that and got the entire wardrobe to prove it
So what to do?
First: you need to forgive yourself for the part you played in this. Yes, you.
The contracts you didn’t yet have in place. The ways you did or didn’t communicate. The conversations you knew you should have had but didn’t.
Listen, NO ONE comes out of the womb knowing how to build and lead a team
And being “The Boss” is so uncomfortable at first.
We have very few role models of folks doing it well so of course we feel conflicted and mixed up.
So please forgive yourself.
Second: you need to cut the cords with those misaligned team members.
They were your past. But they’re not your present and they certainly don’t need to be your future.
There are AMAZING humans out there who just want a great job that pays them well and allows them to contribute their skills and ideas.
Please trust me on this.
Your dream of a dream team is entirely possible for you
Last thing (for now): You need a more thorough hiring process to help you be more discerning about who you bring into your world and why
I know your intuition has served you well and you’ll keep using that forever but in addition to that you need some systems, Boss.
Below is a link to my checklist if you need some help envisioning what that might be
You CAN do this. And you must, if you’re to live out your divinely assigned mission.
This is part of what you’re here to learn…
